Ri-vestiti… The Emporium

Project Description

How common is it to go buy clothes or some accessory to wear? Unfortunately, many people can’t afford to.
This is why we had the idea of an emporium that would allow many families in need the possibility of choosing their own clothes.
The Emporium was born thanks to the project “Prendersi cura”, co-funded by the 8xmille funds of Caritas Italiana, which supports our parish communities in taking on the commitments of communion, neighborliness, and relationship building.
The emporium was inaugurated on November 19, 2017 at the Parish of St. Gregory in Agrigento. To access it you must go to the Diocese Listening Center, which will give you a card that allows you to “buy” products. “Buy” because everyone will be asked to give of their own time and skills to serve others because we are all able to give something.
The emporium – as a pedagogical service of the Diocesan Caritas of Agrigento – is an opportunity to give hope and new life, not only to the person in need, but also to that which covers him; that which is in greater contact with the skin.
In fact, the emporium will also be joined by a social tailor shop, which we have experience with both at the prison and at the Mondoaltro Foundation, which over time will enrich the shelves of the emporium with novelties.
